Year 11 students at St Mary’s Catholic College collected their GCSE and BTEC results this morning [Thursday, 20 August], marking an important milestone in their educational journey which recognises the progress they have made during their five years at the Wallasey school.

There were smiles and plenty of proud moments shared between students, families and staff as GCSE and BTEC results envelopes were opened, revealing the outcome of months of dedication, resilience and hard work.

The results reflect not only academic achievement but also the personal growth, determination and commitment shown by students during their time at St Mary’s Catholic College, a proud member of Holy Family Catholic Multi Academy Trust.

Overall, the Year 11 cohort has celebrated success across a range of GCSE and vocational qualifications, with strong improvements made in English and maths.

Mr Kevin Maddocks, headteacher at St Mary’s Catholic College, said: “It has been a memorable morning here at St Mary’s as we have come together as a school community, with students, families and staff, to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11s who have worked tremendously hard throughout their Key Stage 4 journey. Today’s results reflect the determination, a core value chosen by our students themselves, that they have shown in the lead-up to their exams to achieve their very best, as well as the incredible support provided by our exceptional staff and the encouragement of families.

“As a school, we know that when we work together, we succeed together, and today’s results are a wonderful reflection of this shared commitment. Congratulations once again to all our Year 11 students and I look forward to welcoming many of you back in September!”

Prospective students and their families have the opportunity to discover how St Mary’s Catholic College supports and inspires every child to thrive at its upcoming open evening on Tuesday, 8 September. Doors open at 5:45pm, with headteacher presentations taking place at 6pm and 7pm.
